NASP Ballot is Set for January Elections
By Charles Deupree, NCSP
Chair Nominations and Elections
With the elimination of the NASP Primary and the extended deadline for self nominations there will be more candidates than ever running for NASP leadership positions. In all we have three candidates for each of the officer positions and 24 candidates running for delegate. NASP members will have many choices when voting in January. Each candidate should be congratulated for seeking a leadership role in their professional association. Included is the final list of candidates and the position they seek. In the interest of helping the NASP membership get a better idea of who is running for the positions we have included the officer candidates’ brief biographies. Look for expanded biographies as well as statements posted on this page for all officer and delegate candidates. An additional officer response will be e-mailed to all members of record in December. Please look for that posting.
The membership continues to report that voting on the internet is quick and easy. Starting on January 5, 2010, members may complete the voting process by logging on to the NASP website.
To Vote
After 8:00 AM January 5th members of record as of December 15, 2009 may participate in the elections by simply going to www.nasponline.org/about_nasp/elections.aspx to log in and vote. All members will be able to vote in the President Elect and Treasurer election but only members whose NASP postal address is from one of the 17 states holding a delegate election may vote in that election.
We hope you will vote for your favorite candidates online but if you do not have access to the Internet or are more comfortable voting using a paper ballot, you may request one by calling 1-866-720-HELP (4357). Paper Ballots must be requested between December 28, 2009 and January 15, 2010. Paper and electronic ballots must be received by 5:00 pm Eastern Time, February 1, 2010.
