Executive function describes higher order, conceptually related abilities that enable individuals to regulate their behavior to achieve desired goals and to adapt to complex psychosocial environments. Frequently, deficits in executive function result in learning problems that differ from specific learning disabilities. Session attendees will learn the selection, administration, and interpretation of executive functioning tests from the Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System and Delis-Rating of Executive Function to answer specific clinical questions and to make recommendations for facilitating the child’s school functioning.
