MS086: Supporting and Educating Traumatized Children

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 4:00 PM–5:50 PM

This presentation provides an overview of the impacts of numerous traumatic experiences on school-age children and adolescents, and provides a variety of strategies to help improve their educational and social outcomes. Some interventions are more school-wide and policy driven, whereas others are directed at individual educators who know and work with students personally. The goal is to empower all educators with practical ways to support traumatized students in schools.
