Schools are one of the first and most influential providers of refugee services in the United States. This symposium will highlight key educational challenges facing refugee students and families and provide educators with information on successfully supporting newcomer refugee students and forge effective home–school partnerships. Preliminary outcomes will be presented on three newly initiated school–home–community linked efforts designed to assist with the resettlement process and improve the educational outcomes for refugee students and families.
