Using dynamic assessment, school psychologists help students use and transfer cognitive skills efficiently across contexts, integrating them with both academic and culturally familiar tasks. The Response to Mediated Intervention (RTMI) model integrates dynamic assessment with familiar principles of data-based intervention practice. Videos, case studies, role play and guided practice help participants learn to use dynamic assessment principles, apply them to academic and cognitive assessments, and design interventions responsive to referral questions and students' cultures.
