WS41: It's Not So Black and White: Evaluating Autism Spectrum Disorders

Description:

Participants will be shown best practices in conducting evaluations for autism spectrum disorders. Presenters will discuss the neurological basis of ASDs and participants will learn what assessment tools and procedures must be included in evaluation, according to evidence-based research. Via lecture and decision-making activities with real data, the focus will be on integrating the data from multiple sources with data from the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule. Participants will learn guiding principles to help them make valid, defensible conclusions.
