PA729: Interventions and The NASP Practice Model: Opportunities for School Psychology

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 4:30 PM–5:20 PM

This presentation will discuss how early intervention affords school psychologists greater diversity and leadership in their roles to meet the 2010 NASP practice standards. Data will be presented from six years of systematic intervention implementation highlighting a reduction in student study team and multidisciplinary team meetings, and a reduced emphasis on assessment. Specific examples of the new role of the school psychologist will be presented in the context of interventions, consultation, and opportunities for campus leadership.
