Description:

Motivational interviewing (MI) strategies are designed to promote teacher, family, and student motivation to participate in educational services. Participants will be trained to use MI in a wide range of school consultation practices. Specific applications of MI will also be described including the family check-up, the classroom check-up, and brief MI with students. The workshop will include case examples, video examples, modeling, and role-plays to achieve learning outcomes.
