SY037: Participatory Systems Consultation Approach to Comprehensive School-Based Mental Health

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 2:30 PM–3:50 PM

The purpose of this symposium is to describe application of the Participatory Culture Specific Intervention Model (PCSIM; Nastasi et al., 2004) as the basis for consultation with two low-resource charter schools in a Southern urban high-risk community to develop comprehensive school-based mental health services through school, university and community agency partnerships. Participants are expected to gain knowledge and skills for engaging in participatory systems consultation to develop culture- and context-specific mental health programming.
