SY045: Straight Talk about Faculty Careers: Preparing for the Role

Thursday, February 20, 2014 2:00 PM–3:20 PM

School psychology continues to face a persistent shortage of trainers. Research indicates that this shortage is in part attributed to difficulty of attracting graduate students and practitioners to faculty positions because of negative perceptions of and insufficient mentoring concerning faculty roles. In this symposium, four school psychology faculty will describe the benefits and main elements of faculty roles and discuss how graduate students and practitioners can prepare for this exciting and valuable career.
