PI042: Missing in Action: The Underrepresentation of Black Male School Psychologists

School Psychology is one of America’s most desirable professions however alarming gender and ethnic disparities persist. This presentation will highlight the lack of Black male school psychologists, discuss potential barriers preventing Black males from entering the field, and provide suggestions to improve the recruitment and retention of Black male school psychologists. Participants will learn how they can address this disparity in the number of Black male school psychologists and why this is important for students.
