SY053: WISC-IV and WAIS-IV: Revisiting the Factor Structure and Clinical Interpretation

Friday, February 21, 2014 8:00 AM–9:20 AM

This symposium addresses debates about the structure of abilities measured by the WISC-IV and WAIS-IV from four different perspectives. Presentations include (a) investigations of hierarchical models of the Wechsler scales using clinical and non-clinical populations, (b) alternative structural models and evaluation methods, (c) cross-battery research and methods for testing complex models, and d) methods for applying latent variable models to individuals. These presentations will elucidate the theoretical and practical implications of the structure of intelligence.
