PO022: One-Year Stability of the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment

Description: This presentation investigates the 12-month stability of the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA) and a dual-factor model of social-emotional health. Using a Head Start sample (N=252) the DECA has stability estimates for three scales/subscales comparable to other widely used assessments (r=.61-.65). Two scales/subscales have relatively lower stability estimates (r=.46-.51), whereas the dual-factor model has a stronger stability (r=.68). Practitioners will learn the importance of stability in assessments linked to intervention.
