PO027: Professional Development Concerning LGBTQ Youth

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 1:00 PM–2:30 PM

Research shows a shortage of preparation for school psychologists to work with LGBTQ students; only a small amount of resources exists for school psychologists to acquire professional development on LGBTQ issues. This research project explores methods and resources school psychologists use to self-educate on LGBTQ students and issues. Knowledge of these resources or strategies can be used to help all practitioners in the field learn strategies to better serve LGBTQ students.
