PO029: Play Behavior Differences Among Preschoolers with ADHD and Comorbid Disorders

Friday, February 21, 2014 9:30 AM–11:00 AM

Positive peer play may be challenging for children with internalizing and externalizing disorders, and particularly for those with comorbid disorders. This study analyzes the peer play behaviors of 115 preschoolers with ADHD, ODD, and anxiety disorders during unstructured play time to determine whether play behavior differs based on combinations of comorbid disorders. Results contribute to better understanding the unique social characteristics of children with comorbid disorders with implications for assessment and intervention.
