PA031: In the Gray Area: When Parents Revoke Special Education Consent

This session will provide an introduction to the relevant laws and court cases for when parents revoke special education consent. This includes an analysis of the NASP ethics code as it pertains to these situations. Participants will be provided with practical considerations for ethically working with students who have been identified for special education but are unable to receive services, including: general education interventions and alternative disciplinary options.
