PO035: Incremental Validity of WISC-IV-UK Factor Index Scores in Clinical Assessment

Thursday, February 20, 2014 9:30 AM–11:00 AM

Incremental validity of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth UK Edition (WISC–IV-UK; Wechsler, 2004) factor index scores was examined using hierarchical multiple regression analyses with Irish children (N=1015) assessed for learning difficulties. WISC–IV-UK FSIQ predicted 7.7%–42.5% of WIAT–II subtest and composite score variance. The combined effect of WISC–IV-UK factor index scores accounted for an additional 1.4%–10.5% of WIAT–II subtest and composite score variance. Implications for interpretation are discussed.
