PO047: Increasing Reading Comprehension via Fluency and Vocabulary: An Intervention Study

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 3:00 PM–4:30 PM

Description:

This presentation describes the results of a reading fluency and vocabulary intervention for three, 3rd grade students identified as at-risk. A multiple baseline design across participants was used to evaluate the effects of the two interventions in improved number of words read correctly and reading comprehension rate. This presentation illustrates the use of reading comprehension rate to directly reflect changes in speed, accuracy, and understanding relative to increases in reading fluency and word knowledge.
