PO062: Adolescent Emotional Disclosure to Different Targets: The Role of Attachment

Thursday, February 20, 2014 1:30 PM–3:00 PM

The purpose of this research project was to examine the correspondence between the experience and disclosure of different emotions to different targets (mother, father, best friend, romantic partner) among adolescents. The authors also examined whether attachment moderated this correspondence. These research findings will inform school psychologists who work with adolescents to promote healthy emotion regulation by indicating how disclosure varies across different discrete emotions and different targets.
