PA060: Improving Educational Success for Youth in Foster Care Who Runaway

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 4:30 PM–5:20 PM

Youth in foster care settings who run from foster placements and experience disruptions in education is a significant problem. In this presentation, we will describe a functional, behavior analytic approach to prevent and reduce run behaviors. Data from a study funded by the Institute of Educational Sciences will be presented along with the Functional Assessment Interview for Runaways (FAIR). School psychologists will learn how they can collaborate with child welfare agencies to develop interventions.
