PA067: Evaluating the Voyager Passport After-School Program

Thursday, February 20, 2014 5:00 PM–5:50 PM

Increasingly, schools show interest in cost-effective methods to make data-based decisions about school programs and curricula. We present results from a retrospective program evaluation of the Voyager Passport curriculum. We use existing data to evaluate reading outcomes for participants (N = 40-60) relative to matched peers, national norms, and local norms. Participants will benefit from discussion of (a) the conceptualization and evaluation of school-based research questions and (b) methods to improve program evaluation efforts.
