PI022: Social-Emotional Functioning of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

What are important developmental factors affecting the social-emotional functioning of school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing? This literature review provides a comprehensive overview on the early influences that moderate social and emotional functioning for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Important factors discussed include parental hearing status, degree of hearing loss, and additional disabilities. Attendees will be asked to share their experiences in social-emotional assessment.
